Terms and Conditions
1. About
Leegaa (“Leegaa”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Leegaa Limited, a company registered in New Zealand (NZBN 9429051234188). Leegaa is a service for sport fans to make it fast, easy and fun to follow competitions with family and friends, through two main features: Hearts (ranking how you feel about each team) and Heads (predicting match results).
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply whenever you access or use the Leegaa website or app at leegaa.app (the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Who can use Leegaa
- You must be at least 16 years old to create a Leegaa account or use the Service.
- You must provide an email address you actually control, since we use it to sign you in (see clause 4).
- You may hold one Leegaa account only. Accounts are personal to you and must not be shared, sold or transferred.
- Leegaa is currently offered to fans in New Zealand and Australia during its trial season. We may extend or restrict availability by region at our discretion.
3. Leegaa is free and is not gambling
Leegaa is currently free to use. There is no entry fee, no purchase requirement, and no cash prize, monetary reward, or item of value awarded for your Heart rankings or Head predictions. Scores, ranks, and cards exist for entertainment, banter and bragging rights between you and your friends and family.
Because no money or thing of value is staked, paid, or won, Leegaa's prediction and ranking features are not gambling, wagering or a lottery. If we ever introduce paid features, subscriptions, or prize competitions in the future, we will update these Terms and seek any consents or approvals required at that time.
4. Your account and signing in
Leegaa does not use passwords. You sign in using a one-time link and/or code sent to your email address (“magic link” sign-in). You are responsible for keeping access to your own email account secure, since anyone with access to it could sign in to your Leegaa account.
- You must tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
- You can see and revoke your own active sign-in sessions from within the app.
- We may suspend or close your account if we reasonably believe it is being misused (see clause 9).
5. How Hearts and Heads work
5.1 Hearts
Hearts lets you rank how you feel about each team in a competition. Your ranking affects the emotional/loyalty side of your leegaa cards and profile.
5.2 Head predictions
Heads lets you predict the result of upcoming matches before they are played. Once a round or matchweek locks you cannot change your predictions for those matches. Scoring for correct or incorrect predictions is set out in the app and may be adjusted between seasons, with reasonable notice where practical.
For the A-League 26/27 seasons a correct win prediction will score 3 head points, and a correct draw prediction will score 1 head point. An incorrect prediction, or no prediction entered, will score 0 head points.
5.3 Match and fixture information
Fixture times, results and related sporting data shown in Leegaa are sourced from third parties and official competition feeds. We take reasonable care but do not guarantee this information is complete, accurate or up to date at every moment, and we are not responsible for decisions you make in reliance on it (for example, missing a prediction deadline because of a fixture change).
6. Cards and sharing
Leegaa generates personalised digital “cards” based on your activity in the app (for example, your Heart ranking or matchweek results). You can choose to save or share these cards, including to social media.
- By choosing to share a card, you understand that anything it displays (such as your game name, team ranking, or prediction record) may become visible to whoever you share it with, and to anyone they share it with in turn.
- You grant us a licence to generate, store and display cards containing your Leegaa activity for the purpose of operating the Service, including showing them back to you and enabling you to share them.
- We will not post your cards publicly on Leegaa's own social media or other channels without your separate permission.
7. Acceptable use
When using Leegaa, you agree not to:
- create more than one account, or create an account using someone else's identity or a false name;
- attempt to manipulate scores, rankings or predictions through automated tools, exploits or bugs, rather than genuine engagement with the app;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that harasses, abuses or impersonates any other person;
- scrape, copy or systematically extract data from the Service other than your own personal information;
- interfere with, damage, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' accounts;
- misuse any invite or organiser feature to spam or mislead other people.
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or close accounts that breach this clause.
8. Intellectual property
The leegaa name, logo, card designs, scoring system, software and content are owned by Leegaa Limited or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property laws. You may use the service for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment, but you must not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, republish or exploit any part of it commercially without our written consent.
Team names and competition names referenced within leegaa are used descriptively, to identify the real-world teams and matches the Service relates to. Leegaa is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Isuzu UTE A-League, the Ninja A-League, Australian Professional Leagues Company Pty Ltd, or any football club, unless stated otherwise.
9. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive conduct, or if we are required to do so by law. You may close your account at any time by contacting us (see clause 15).
10. No guarantee the Service will always be available
Leegaa is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we are not liable for any loss you suffer as a result of downtime, disruptions, or discontinued features.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Leegaa Limited is not liable to you for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986, or under the Australian Consumer Law (where it applies to you), which cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Indemnity
You agree to compensate us for any loss, damage or costs (including reasonable legal costs) we incur as a result of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
13. Third-party links and services
Leegaa may link to or rely on third-party websites, data feeds or services (for example, fixture and results data, or social media platforms you choose to share cards to). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of those third parties.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to let you know (by in-app notice or email) before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and how to reach us
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. If you are using Leegaa from Australia, nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
